CEP is the spanish acronym for the Pedralbes Business Club. It is one of the most prestigious activities organized by Pedralbes Residence Hall and now has over a decade of history.
One of the main barriers to finding work is the weak link between company and university. Pedralbes Business Club (CEP) was born in 1983 precisely for this purpose: bring the university students to the business world. This initiative was created by residents of Pedralbes Residence Hall and since then the following developments have been passed over in the direction of the CEP, organizing meetings to which over 1,000 university students have attended. Antonio González-Barros (founder of Grupo Intercom), Joseph Ajram (brokery coach), Nacho Sala (one of the founders of Atrápalo.com) and Alex Cross (ex-CEO of Vueling and Clickair founder) were some of the speakers these courses.
In this edition, from Pedralbes Business Club it has opted for experience firsthand testimonies of start-up’s technology that have achieved success. Juan Bautista Gomez, Founder and CEO of Voovio; Pedro Serrahima CEO of Pepephone and Josep Mitja, Founder and CEO of Wuaki.tv, were the protagonists of this first course.
The second course of the year will be a re-edition of the Jobseekers course: Finding work (and right first) and address one of the most common topics in the University. Under the slogan ” Job search is a job”, sessions will allow practical advice on how to improve the CV, LinkedIn profile and the importance of networking.
As every year, courses have the collaboration of IESE Business School, where the sessions are held. In the previous edition, more than 100 young people participated in these courses. “We are pleased with the response of our university students to our courses. Now we are working on new ways to reach more university students” assure Marc Ferrer, director of CEP.
