The internal league starts
One more year, the internal league has begun. Five teams captained by Joan Marquès, Pablo Peman, Xavi Blavia, Dani Bonsfills and Javi Martinez, will face throughout these months to win the title at all costs. The first match was played last week by the teams of Marquès and Pemán, although this last one was replaced by Blavia. The result was very tight. The team of Marquès won by 11 to 12, who after the game said: “It was a very contested victory, which both team deserved as well as the other, although we are very happy with the match we played … At the last minute they made our hair stand on end when Jan Cañada made that huge shot that went to the post, so we could have been tied perfectly. Think I would highlight his role in the game, because he has managed to fulfill what his team needed at all times.”
From the lawn of the pool, the fans, seated in chairs, sang various songs, among others: “referee you do not have whistle”, “Oscar Maireles”, “Malagueño” … Was highlighted precisely the “malagueño” Juanto, who was quite a revelation. Nobody knew him very much yet, but his way of playing, as if his life were in it, amazed everyone. He is a Master’s student, freshman in the Residence, and they say he plays in a rugby team. And the truth is that he seemed to confuse sports, because although Jan Cañada, after a kick received by him, tried to talk to him to relax him a bit, the only thing he got was turning him even more.
The internal league, in the words of its organizers, must be and is intended to foster links between the residents of the Residence, and be an example of sportsmanship. What we saw in the first match is far from being a great example, although it was not a drama either. Little by little, as every year, the relationship between the players of the teams themselves and the rivals will improve.
